The position of ECG Project Engineer is responsible for reviewing, scheduling, and coordinating technical and project activities with Engineered Components, Engineering, Production, and Quality Groups for designated projects to ensure that the customer and the contract are satisfied.
Duties and Responsibilities: · Schedules projects issued by the Project Manager to meet required contract and release dates · Monitors backlog to staffing level requirements · Obtains customer approval for the required engineering drawings per the contracts · Expedites technical problems during the engineering, purchasing, manufacturing and quality phases for a timely resolution to problems · Advises the Project Manager of any contractual problems related to projects assigned · Assist in outlining the work plan and assigning duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority · Act as direct liaison between the customer and internal resources to insure that the customers’ expectations are met. · Work with sales department and project manager to generate and provide quotations for customers
Minimum Qualifications: · Intermediate to Advanced Experience: o Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Inventor and Product Stream) o MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook) o Internet software (Explorer or Chrome) · Beginner to Intermediate Experience: o Project Management software (MS Project, Clarizen, or Genius Project) o Database and Manufacturing software (Syteline) o MS Office (Visio) · Sales Force · Must be able to travel up to 30% of time, mostly domestic with occasional international travel · Self-starter; ability to work without direct supervision · Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions · Ability to interpret variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form · Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists · Ability to follow-up on multiple projects and multiple open issues simultaneously
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in mechanical engineering or related field. Minimum of two years in an engineering design role is required. Previous experience in the role of a project contact/lead is highly desirable. |
